  1. at the time of a fair the people used to get ready a week before the time. The first thing they would do on the morning of the fair is to feed the donkey and then get what ever the people would have to bring to the market or to the fair. At that time there was no donkey carts or horse carts and you would see thousands of people coming to the fair on their donkeys and a bag of potatoes. They thought that the potatoes were as good as the cattle is to us now. When they would be coming home with the donkeys it was the custom to swop donkeys to see to see which donkey was the best and every one of the praising his.
