  1. Long ago the people used to live mostly on nettles, dockets, potatoes and porridge. They used to boil some nettles in a pot and sometimes they might have a little bit of lard to dress them. They used to boil dockets and wild cabbage. The dinner the people used to have was spoonful of nettles and a couple of potatoes.
