  1. There lived a poor woman and her son once. They had one cow and they said they would sell her. The son went to the fair with the cow. It was a very wet morning and he had me coat. His mother gave him her coat. On his way to the fair he had to pass a stream. The steam flowed over a rock. He said poor rock you must be wet. He took off him his coat, and covered the rock. He told the rock to keep the coat until he would return. When he came back the coat was gone. He began to best the rock
