  1. Jeremiah Regan was born in
    the farm adjoining Kilnadur national school over seventy years ago. He received his elementary education in the old disused school thirty yards from the new school. The teacher of that time was often in need of money. On one occasion this teacher attended a funeral to Kilmichael graveyard. On the return journey it was a general custom for those returning from the funeral to partake of refreshments at a public house at Glown. This teacher stopped there with the rest of the party but unfortunately he had very little money in his possession. The rest of the party, knowing this, ignored his presence. The teacher was very hurt. He had some refreshments aside and while doing so he kept all the time thinking of the situation that had arisen. At last he concluded that the best thing to do was
