- (continued from previous page)from the cross is called the new road,as it is a more modern highway which leads to Clonohill, and turning to the left runs on as the new road to meet the Cahir- Windsor road again enclosing a large square and many townslands. There are four monuments,bushes or trees,the first on the new Glebe road,to a man named Rigney who lost his life in a snowfall. The second on the Cahir -Windsor road to a young man named Michael Byrne who met his death with a shot gun.The third to a man named William Delaney who met his death with a cart overturning in the little river called the Tonet and in a little river adjoining called the Effernogue. A one Thomas Sawyers was found drowned with his dog beside him. This incident seems to have been a prophecy fulfilled as he once tried to prevent a priest attending(continues on next page)
