The local roads are the Windsor road which runs from Cahir to meet the Rushall to Coolrain road, at these three roads the place is called the Cock-taking, its name from a little Sheebeen or Public House which stood there long ago with the figure of a little cock,over the door. Continuing this road to the left it takes you through the village of Coolrain,down to Shiels cross taking its name from a family of Shiels who lived there, The house still stands at the right side of the road,but is derelict. On the left side before you reach the cross is an old lane which once served as the road way,but the real road
