  1. Between Monagh and Marymaount there lived a man named {as Dooley or as he was called "Red Pad". He had a wife who was a dashing good looking young woman, Near their home there was a rath, in the vicinity of this rath she went to milk her cows each day. A change seemed to have come on the woman and she became a fault finding grumpy old crone. Red Pad soon noticed the change and hastened to consult a wise man and asked for help to get bask his wife. The wise man using his magic art told Pad; at a certain hour on a certain date a procession would pass through his kitchen. The way he would know his wife would be this; she was to go
