Thistles are also in the gravel parts, dandelion is also plentiful this was used for pig feeding in olden times with meal and when pounded and the juice extracted was used for liver and lung trouble.Elder berries for the purpose of dyeing,chicken weed was used for rheumatism boiled into a poultice with linseed. Cammolile for sore eyes, March Mallows fried in lard for a sprain,the latter was very effective.
