  1. When a person used be getting married long ago the man would go to the girls house and they used have the picking of the gander.
On that night they used have a great feast. On the day of the marriage the two that are getting married meet at the church after the marriage the people go to the girls house and they have a great feast. It is the married woman that cuts the wedding cake. Everyone had a horse and saddle or a side car at the wedding. Some people pelt rice after the married couple for luck, others pelt an old shoe after them. When the night falls they dance and sing and have great fun.
