the night dancing and amusing themselves.
It was the custom long ago that no one should get married in the month of May. It was also the custom that no one should get married on Monday or Friday because they were said to be unlucky. They also pelted old shoes after the car when the two people were going away after getting married. The people believed that blue was the luckiest colour to get married in. They also thought if the straw boys did not come in to the house the night of the wedding they would have no luck.
