  1. St Ciaran
St Ciaran was born in Fuerty in Co Roscommon. His first teacher was Justice. At the age of sixteen he went to Clonard, when he was going, he asked his mother for a cow but his mother refused. Ciaran went to the stable where the cow was. He blessed the cow and she followed him to Clonard, while there she supplied the whole monastery with milk.
On another occasion his mother asked him why he wasn't gathering the honey like the other little boys. Ciaran asked her for a bucket. She gave him the bucket. Then Ciaran filled the bucket with water at the well, blessed the water and as soon as he did this, it was turned into a bucket full of honey.
Then he went home to his mother and gave the bucket of honey to her. She sent him to Justice, his teacher, with the bucket of honey.
