O well I remember,
Ballyhogue and the "Stars"
They met in a fray.
In Ferns big city,
Where all were so pretty,
They hurled against each other
To see which was the best.
The field it was slippy,
And also was grassy,
The boys you must know
Could not show of the best,
In the middle of the game,
As we call it half-time,
The "Stars" they were winning
By seven to four,
But when they were rested,
Our boys were not tested,
It was not very long,
Till they were leading in score,
Dan Walsh our full forward,
Swept all on before him
For Ballyhogue's sure that day,
