- Sometimes a lot of travelling folk call to my home. They have done the same for years. Some of them have more money than others, because they make articles and sell them.
They sell tea-drawers, quarts, gallons, cans and little tables. Farmers who sell milk buy gallons, quarts, and pint tins from them. They usually sell tin ware but sometimes they sell other things.
People who make tin-wear are called tin-smiths. They buy the tin in hardware shops. They need hammes, rivets and tin-cutters. When a can is being made, first of all the tin is cut out and made in the shape of a tin can and then they bend the sides down and put a hole in it and put in the handle and put in a rivet and fasten it in. When a hole comes in a can, they get solder and melt it and put it on the can.- Bailitheoir
