- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Meat was eaten twice a week. It was generally salt. Fish was eaten often and vegetables. Most people did not eat late at night. Beef, tea and brown bread were eaten at Christmas and at Easter. The people used to eat nuts and apples and put a ring in a boxty loaf on Hollowe'en night. Tea was first used in this district about eighty years ago. People used noggins instead of cups.
