1. The Local Patron Saint (ar lean)

   Kilfintan which means Fintan's Church. There is a holy well in Kilfintan also, called Saint Fintan's well. He is supposed to have his monastery where Berny Smyth's house of Clonmore is at present. There is a big mound in Berny Smyth's field and it is there he is supposed to have been buried.
   It is said the head was cut off Saint Fintan at the well called Saint Fintan's well. He walked up as far as his monastery without a head. He died there and his monks buried him and raised a height over his grave. There is no holiday kept in the parish in his honour. People offer up prayers for him when they go to Saint Fintan's well.

   The local patron saint is Saint Fintan. There is a townland in this parish called after him, it is called Kilfintan. There are some children called after him also. He is said to have a monastery in Barney Smyth's field and it fell and the remains of it are there yet. He has
