    instead of going out the road to Birr by Borriskane. By the time he came to Rathnaleen he had become normal. As he was passing through Killyloughnane he thought of the "Eye Fiddle" and he planned up to frighten the occupants of the old house in Grange. There is a man by the name of Mick O Quinn whose father and his grandfather and three other men were in the house. One of them was mending a boot when suddenly a queer looking object appeared at the door. One of the men fainted and the others lay helpless on the floor. But the Grandfather who was trembling with fright took up the chair he was sitting on and said "Dead or alive you will come no farther." So Slattery went out the same way as he came in and the grandfather who went out to see the way he went saw his dog so he found out who it was.
