  1. There is a house about four miles from Nenagh. It was owned by O'Hogan at first, but when Cromwell came to Ireland he gave it to one of his soldiers named Toler. The house is now owned by one of his descendants. There is an avenue going down to the house. One night a man was walking down the avenue.
It was about twelve o clock in the night. He heard a noise behind him. When he looked behind him he saw a black man. The black man carried him away and he remembered nothing until morning came. When morning came he found himself in an underground passage near Beechwood House. He was very frightened and he did not know where he was for a few minutes but at last he knew what happened to him.

  2. About two miles from Nenagh there is a house called Southill House. There is a cross roads about thirty yards from the house. One night a man was passing by the cross. He felt a breeze by his side. A carriage with six horses passed him and went about forty yards in front of him.
