- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)in the field. Patrick O Brien was loosening the jaw stones and the youngster was throwing them out. As he was pulling up a stone he let it go with a cry. He drew his hands out of the hole and the left one was gashed from wrist to elbow. O Brien said that there must be something there. He dug around the place and exposed a dagger about 4 1/2 feet long with a great curved handle. It was found about a yard under the surface. The dagger was placed between the rafters and the slates at O Brien's and it is probably there yet. Tradition has it that this well removed when a woman washed her baby in it.
