O most merciful Jesus have mercy on me. My soul and my body I resign unto thee. Those five bleeding wounds were knelt to a tree. O most merciful Jesus have mercy on me. - About a mile to the North of Bruree in a place called Knockmore there is a moat. One night a man named O'Connell dreamt three nights in succession that there was a crock of gold hidden under a flagstone in the moat. Next day he went in search of the gold. He dug and dug until he came to a large stone. "Now" said he "I'll be a rich man". As he was about to lift the stone, he heard terrible noises. His ears were deafened and his head began to whirl. He got such a fright that he ran for his life, leaving spade and pick axe behind him.
