"Paddy the Rogs" used to come around this district and he used to gather old clothes.
The man was very welcome to the farmers houses for the stories he had to tell, and the manner in which he told them. A pedlar called Mick Rourke used to call this way many years ago. He used to sell - laces, combs, studs, rosary-beads, statues and other small articles and he lived in Kildorrery. Another pedlar from Mitchelstown by the name of "Michlín Thrush" used to attend the fairs of Mollagga and Kildorrery where he used to put up a stand which contained a choice assortment of wares including - penknives, mouth-organs, little concertina's, tin-whistles and various other toys. "Peel - a - wan" was a beggarman who came here about once a month. He also was accustomed to steal clothes that would be left on a hedge(continues on next page)- Collector
