    other one sold herrings and tobacco. A pig-fair was held in Kildorrey the second Tuesday of each month up to the year 1918. It ceased to exist since, owing to the interference of a local man who purchased pigs by weight.

  2. A shilling is called "a bob" a sixpence is called "a tanner." A three penny piece is called "a kid's eye" and a two shilling piece is called "two bob" A pound is called "a quid" A five shilling piece and a four penny bit, also called a groat, are gone out of date. Farthings are not used now.
