On this bed to-night I sleep
To God I give my soul to keep,
But if I die before I wake
To God I give my soul to take.

There are four corners in my bed
There are four angels o'er it spread,

God bless this bed that I lie on.

Heart of Jesus I adore thee,
Heart of Mary I implore thee,
Heart of Jesus meek and just,
In these three hearts I place my trust.

I must die. I do not know when nor how nor where, but if I die in mortal sin I am lost for ever. Jesus have mercy on me.

Merciful Jesus have mercy on me.

My soul and my body I resign unto thee,
Whose five bleeding wounds were nailed to a tree.
O crucified Jesus have mercy on me.When getting up:
I will arise O Lord from this bed of sleep, to adore my God, and to labour for the salvation of my soul. Oh may I arise on the last day to life everlasting. Amen.(continues on next page)
