- Long ago a boy named Jim Godsel was going to Kanturk and on his way he called into a public house at Billies Green,Roskeen Banteer. He had some drink there and when he came out he began to dance opposite a fort in the neighbourhood. A fairy left the fort and entering the public house made a complaint about Godsels dance to the proprieter.
The man on hearing the fairy's grievance advised him to put a hump on Godsel's back. This he did and Godsel had a hump until the day of his death and it was believed that it was that hump caused his death.- Bailitheoir
