(R.I.P.)"Father Dan O Sullivan ("Father Dan") was P.P. of Inis Chéin eighty years ago. The proselytising was going on then. There was a boy from the place in college to be a priest, and whatever happened, he turned a Protestant. It was Father Dan recommended him to the bishop, and when he heard this he wrote this song and sent it to the boy. When the boy read it the tears coursed down his cheeks. He nearly killed himself crying and he turned back on the spot.- Faisnéiseoir
