- Once there was a giant in Scotland who had beaten all the Giants in the world, but the Irish Giant - Finn.The Scotch giant sent a messenger to Finn, he was coming to fight him. Finn inquired from the messenger what size the Scotch man was. The messenger related he was nearly three times Finn's size, and went back to Scotland to say Finn was awaiting to fight him. When Finn's wife saw the Scotch giant crossing the hill, she told Finn to get into the cradle. The Giant asked to see Finn. His wife said he was out looking for a scythe to shave himself. This set the Scotch giant to think and Finn's wife invited him to sit down while she'd make a cake of bread for him. She put the griddle in the centre of a cake and when baked, treated the giant to a farrel of oatcake. The giant was ashamed to be defeated and kept eating the cake until his teeth were all broken. Finn's wife was very surprised, saying her husband could eat the bonnog in one mouthful. She then invited him to the room, to see(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
