- In the townland of Tawnagh there is a Holy Well called Saint Patrick's Holy Well. It is in the vicinity of Tawnagh graveyard.
It is said that when Saint Patrick was on his journey from Tara to Croagh Patrick he stopped at the well to take a drink. Wile drinking he knelt on a stone at the well and where he arose the track of his knee was left in the stone.
In ardagh there is a holy well called Saint Munians Holy Well. It is about a hundred yards away Temple More graveyard. It is surrounded by trees and at its back(continues on next page)
