  1. (continued from previous page)
heifers, two horses and two mares, nine sheep and sixteen lambs two asses five pigs, two sows, and eleven bonhams.
We have eighty hens, two cocks, and sixty chickens, twelve young geese, and three old ones, thirteen old ducks, one drake, and twenty-four young ones, one old turkey and eleven young ones.
When I am driving the cows I say 'Hi,' and when I am bringing them home I say 'brig'. We have no names on the cows.
They are put into the stable in the Winter-time. The stable is a big house with a trench in the middle of the floor. The manure goes into this trench, and can be thrown out a back window.
The cows are tied with an iron chain. The chain is put in on a stake, which is sunk down in the manger.
