  1. They would make black puddings. When they would kill a pig the blood would be kept in a basin. They would put oat-meal and salt in it. Then they would eat it.

  2. Cures were made long ago out of herbs. Asse's milk and ferrets leavings were cures for chin cough and whooping-cough. Goat's milk was a preventitive of consumption. To eat a little sugar and to hold the wrist of the hand tight was the cure for a hiccough. If a person had worms in his stomach the cure was
