    Composition
Wild Birds of the School District.
Vast numbers of sparrows, wagtails, greenfinches, robins, bullfinches, goldfinches, wrens, linnets, yellowhammers, blackbirds and thrushes build their nests of moss, wool, and hair in the white-thorn hedges of this district.
The fearless birds such as the crows rooks, pigeons, owls and hawks usually build their nests on the tops of high trees in the woods of Ballymohany, Castletown and Castleconnor.
Wild ducks and various kinds of waterhens are plentiful on the ponds and lakes and come inland to us from their nests on the banks of the Moy. Many other game birds live in the woods such as pheasants, partidges and woodcocks which are now growing scarce in our district.
At the approach of winter curlew and Snipe come to us from the cold north In winter they can be seen in great flocks in the bogs of Corballa, Emlymoran Castleconnor, and Dooeighney.
