  1. At night when there are a lot of stars in the sky without any clouds we are sure to have frost in the morning. If the moon is red we should be prepared for rain. The further the ring is from the moon the nearer the rain. If there is a cloud on Nephin and the wind blowing from that direction a long spell of rain is to follow. If the sun is red when setting the next day will be hot and sunny. If the far-off mountains look near it is the sign of damp-weather. If the sun goes down into a bank of clouds in the horizon rain is expected. When the robin is seen outside the door snow is not far off. When the tame geese rise into the air with loud screaming rain is at hand. If you see the swallows and the crows flying low we will soon have rain.
