    John Reape used to go round thatching. He used to thatch five widths of a ladder in a day. He was a well-known thatcher. He made his living by thatching.

  2. When a person dies his body is washed and cleaned, and a brown habit is put on it; white stockings are put on his feet, and white gloves on his hands. He is then laid on a board with his hands joined, and a crucifix in them.
    When they are preparing, the nail white sheets over the bed and a small table is left outside the bed for the lighted candles. They go out to their neighbour's house
