    When they had no food to get they ate the barks of trees and grass. They used to dig for the roots of the bachlóg and eat it.
    In our village Knockroe a man was found dead with a five-pound note in his pocket. The people found out that he died of starvation. They did not know his name because his family died of starvation also.
