“There was once a blacksmith by the name of Flynn and he had a forge some-where in Corderay or Thoncurry.”

Tonight said the stranger there will be one of the greatest battles ever fought in Ireland. The war is on between the hosts of Lah Wow and Lah Chuinn and on the result of tonight the fate of Ireland depends.
If the northern half wins, Ireland will gain her freedom and be independent for ever, but if the southern half wins Ireland will be in slavery for centuries to come.
Before sunrise her fate will be decided.
"How am I to know said Flynn

Then Flynn saw before him in the light of the harvest moon one of the tallest men he ever saw. He had a sweet smiling face over his great beard and his wrists seemed as stout as the smiths [thighs?]
