    McKeon was an Agent for La Touche and a bad one he was.
    One day he came to collect rents and found no money with the tenants.
    'Well' said he I never met such a lot of [dying?] "Potches". I'll have ye all turned out and I'll get Mr La Touche to plant the land - trees.
    Ever after and to this day the neck name remains the Deffier Potches.
    There were so many Pats in the town that they [?] them called the Potches.
    Poth so and so and Potch so and so.
    McKeon was fired at twice. He got off the first time but the second attack was at the place where Phil Ward lives today. The attacker found that the gun was not able to shoot McKeon. He then knocked McKeon into a drain and had him almost drowned when people came the way and McKeon was saved.
