  1. There are six tailors in this locality at present. Their names are Mr McCauley James Rourke Isaac Rourke Pat Rourke Tom McGivney and John Dolan. These men their work at home. A few of these tailors stock cloth. The cloth is not spun or woven in this district but in some parts of the parish of Innismagrath Drumkeerin cloth is still spun and woven and made into socks stockings and rough tweeds. The wool is got from the local sheep of which there are plenty in this parish. In former times a rough tweed called fries was spun in my locality and worn by the local people. An old proverb connected with tailoring is this that it takes nine tailors to make a man. Scissors, the goose, irons, needles, a sewing machine and thimbles are the implements used by the tailor in this work.
