If the bride's house was not far from the chapel they walked and it was generally the custom that music should be played before them. after leaving the chapel they used to go to the nearest town and have refreshment there. In the evening they came to the girl's house and held a great feast. During the night straw-boys came in- a coming which was thought very lucky in the olden days. The reason why they were called straw-boys was of the straw hats they wore. These hats covered their heads(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
