  1. 1. We keep cows, heifers, bullocks, calves and an ass at hone.
    2. We also keep dogs and cats.
    3. The cows have got names.
    4. Their names are the Blue Polly and the red Horny.
    5. When we drive the cows in or out to a field we say "go on". If the cow shows uneasiness when milking the milker says "Dursh", "Dursh".
    6. The cow-house is called a byre. It is built of stone and mortar.
    7. The cows are tied with spancels.
    8. Cows are tied by the neck.
    9. The spancels are put round their necks
    10. The tyings are made of iron.
    11. They are not home-made
    12. Palm is hung in the cow-house to bring good luck on the stock.
