About thirty years ago an old woman named Kate Mac Coole used to go around begging. She always stayed a night or two nights in my Grannie's house.
In her younger days she was a Protestant but when she married Mac Coole she became a Catholic. At night when the Rosary was recited she always said the second or third decade. When she would be ready to lie down in bed she joined her hands and said
"There are four corners on this bed
And in each corner and angel spread
    Mathew, Mark, Luke and John
God bless the house we all lie on"
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
