Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The most harmful weeds on our farm at home are the Colts foot and the red shanks and chicken weed and dockens. These weeds impoverished the soil.
    The benweed grows only where land is good. The dandelion can cure indigestion and the colts foot was formerly used as a remedy for chest complaints. These herbs are stewed and the juice is taken.
    The juice of the yarrow was formerly thought to cure toothache and headache and ointment made from them was supposed to cure wounds.
    Nettles and dockens are chopped up and given to turkeys along with their meat.
