A Story (ar lean)
“There was a Donegal student one time and he was at a college in Rome. He was going to be a priest but he was not ordained at that time.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)asked him was he coming home for the New Year. The Student said he was. The little man told him when he was going back to the college to ask the Pope "will God give them any better way in this world."
The Student went on his way and in a week he was going back to the college in Rome again. He went to the Pope but he forgot to ask the Pope what the little man asked him.
He went back to the Pope again and told him about the little man and what he told him.
The Pope said "God will not give them any better way till they stop playing mischief like what they are are doing such as stealing children and destroying their neighbours' property and taking away butter.
On the Students way home he saw the little man again and he told the Pope's answer. The little man disappeared. He was King of the Fairies.
