  2. Long ago there were very strong me here. Some of the strongest and greatest of these were Timothy Driscoll, Din McGrath, Jerry Murray, and Tom Wilcox. They were also the best oarsmen. And they were never beaten at any regatta, except one time when they pulled against Kilcrohane a distance of about three miles and the men of Dunmanus had a heavy boat. But they challenged them again for the following Sunday and Tim Sullivan of Tureen put down five pound, and the men of Dunmanus won.
    Jerry Murray threw the half hundred 22 feet, and Timothy Driscoll too two hundred weight under each
