- Once upon a time there were two men who had two humps on their backs, Jack Brady and Dick Muldoon were their names.
They heard of a little white woman who used to be seen at Flemmings - Folly to cure their humps.
They went one night at twelve o'clock to the woman. The men asked her would she cure them of the humps and she said she would if they would sing the Ballinagh Rangers and dance a jig.
Jack Brady was the first to appear and he said he would sing and dance.
So Jack Brady and the woman sang the Ballinagh Rangers and danced a jig.
She went out and got three green rushes and struck each end of the Folly and a half a dozen young men came out with a cross cut and cut the hump of Jack and while they were cutting the hump the sang the following poem.
Now Jack Brady we say,
your humps gone away.
You're now a fine man,
The best of your clan.
In a year and a day you'll be wed all say.
And sure enough Jack was wed in a year and a day.
