  1. In this locality a story is told of a boy who used to go to play cards in a neighbouring house. One night as he was going as usual he called into a shop on the way. When he came out of the house, shop he went into a field that was laeding to the house that he was going to. As he was trying to make his way to the house a high hedge seemed to prevent him and in this manner he spent many hours going round the field and could not get his way out of it. At last his companions who were on their visit were [?] returning home. He heard their voises in the distance and called them to come near him and on doing so they took him home with them.
There is a house near where I live and in some years past the dwelling house and premises were seen on fire. The man who saw them ran in haste to help to put out the flames. As he drew near the flames vanished in a second.
Near the same spot there is a well and one night when two men were coming by it a barrel rolled down the rock and into the well splashing the water in them.
One night when two men were up on some business they planned that they would take the gate going to the house and hide it for tricks.
