    On Saint Stephen's Day "wren boys" go around from house to house singing:-
    "The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
    St. Stephen's Day, she was caught in the furze,
    Up with the kettle and down with the pan,
    Give us a treat and let us be gone".
    They gather money which is divided evenly among themselves. In the evening they have a party on which they spend their money.
    Onn Saint Patrick's Day girls wear green harps and badges in their coats, and men wear shamrock, in honour of St. Patrick, who is the Patron of Ireland. Long ago bonfires were lighted on Saint Patrick's
