Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Lumcloon is the name of the townland I lived in, It is in the Parish of Cloghan and in the Barony of Garrycastle.
There are about twenty seven families altogether in the townland.
Eighty six is about the approximate number of people that are living in it.
All of the houses are thatched except three or four.
The townland got its name from "Cluain" which means plain valley, and "lom" which means bare.
In the townland there stands the ruin of an old mill, which in ancient times was owned by a man named Callaghan who afterwards emigrated to America.
There also is a spa well, where sick people go and drink the water in it, and then they are cured, the water in it is cold in the Summer, and hot in the Winter.
The land is not hilly, it is more of a flat plain.
