Once upon a time near a great forest lived a woodcutter who had two children named Hansil and Gretel. The children's mother died and their father married again. The woodcutter was very poor and when famine came the man was not able to get food for his children and he had to put them into the forest to seek food for themselves. When the children were going into the wood they dropped pebbles on the road as they went and that night they followed the pebbles back to their own house. Not long after there came another famine and the children were left again in the forest and this time they did not come back. They(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
