    dancing with joy. Most of the people send present's of eggs to their friends for Easter Sunday. May day is the first day of Summer, and usually a very nice day. All the people around here put up maypoles about their houses. Some put them over their doors, and others put them on a very long stick in a manure heap.
    The feast of St Peter and Paul it is a great feast. All the faithful observe this feast in this district. The feast of the Assumption is on the 15th of August and is the greatest feast that is observed around here. It is called Lady day. St Martins feast is the 29th of September and people observe it by killing fowl and sprinkling the four corners of the house with the blood in remembrance of the holy innocents.
