    is near our house. There were a lot of small thatched houses along the back lane once there was a road leading up to the town at the post office.
    There is an old road in Lanesboro named the line. When they were making it, the pay was very small it was only from three pence to sixpence per day. It was made in the year 1894. The women used to help the men to break the stones.
    Before the iron bridge was built there was a wooden one there.
    There was no main roads long ago only the school road.
    There was a fortress on the Roscommon side of the Shannon owned by the King of Connaught.
