  1. On the 6th January 1839 there was a big storm and also big wind it knocked down houses in Lanesboro
    In the year of 1903 there was a big storm it killed Mr Gills horse on the banks of the Shannon.
    In 1936 there was a terrible big thunder storm and lightning it killed cattle and horses. In 1933 there was a big fall of snow there was a woman dead and the day she was buried it was snowing and the corpse had to be brought up the Shannon in a boat to the graveyard.
    In the year 1898 there was a big fall of snow, there were sheep in a field the snow covered them so that they could not be seen, how the people discovered where they were, their breath made holes in the snow, so the could be seen.
