    If you had a sore throat they used to tie a silk scarf round it.
    If you had a wart and rub a black snail on it and hang the snail on a thorn for nine days it would get better.
    If you had a burn they would get a laurel leaf and melt it and rub it on it.
    If they had a hiccup they would drink nine drops of water.
    If they had a toothache they would put pepper in it.
    If they got a cut of a knife they would put a cobweb on it.
    If they had the jaundies they would pull herbs out of the ground and boil them and drink the mixture.
